Tale of Two Parties

They met again
another battle
in a continuing war.

A war so long
everyone had forgotten
why they fought.

The peasants cheered
and threw gold coins
they could not afford.

And then a girl
asked why
they fought.

For the good
of the people
her father answered.

Nothing gets better
And we are poor
because of this war.

Everyone stopped
the people of both sides
Walked away.
